These functions allow you install Microsoft® FrontPage extensions. FrontPage extensions allow a user to publish his website directly from his computer via the FrontPage website editing application.
Install FrontPage extensions
Installing these extensions will allow users to publish their websites through the Microsoft FrontPage application.
Warning: Microsoft® discontinued support for FrontPage extensions on Linux servers in 2006. You should exercise caution when installing FrontPage extensions, as they have been known to cause security issues. It is recommended that you use another publishing method, such as FTP or WebDAV.
To begin:
- Select the account on which you would like to install FrontPage extensions.
- Click Install.
Warning: Installing FrontPage extensions deletes .htaccess files, which are directory configuration files. These files also contain password information. You will need to reconfigure any protected directories after FrontPage extensions are installed on an account.
Install FrontPage mail extensions
FrontPage mail extensions allow your users to use FrontPage to set up mail forms for their websites. These forms allow visitors to send email to the website administrator.
Warning: Microsoft discontinued support for FrontPage extensions on Linux servers in 2006. You should exercise caution when installing FrontPage extensions, as they have been known to cause security issues. It is recommended that you use another publishing method, such as FTP or WebDAV.
Warning: Installing FrontPage mail extensions installs the extensions on
all domains hosted by the server. Exercise caution when installing FrontPage mail extensions.
Uninstall FrontPage extensions
You are able to uninstall FrontPage extensions for any of your domains.
To do so:
- Select the account for which you would like to uninstall the extensions.
- Click UnInstall.
