Disk Drives

This section of WHM allows you to partition, format, mount, and optimize hard drives that are installed on, or connected to, your server.

Format/Mount a new Hard Drive

This feature is useful when you are adding a new hard drive to your server, or you wish to delete the contents of a drive.

The Disk Setup screen displays all of your server’s hard drives.

To partition, format, and mount a drive:

• Click the Partition, Format, and Mount button.

Warning: Clicking this button will cause all the contents of the selected drive to be deleted. Before proceeding, you should ensure that the disk does not contain information you want to preserve.

Optimize EIDE Hard Drives

This feature helps you improve the speed and performance of your external EIDE (Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics) hard drives.

Warning: If your server uses an older chipset, there is a chance that this procedure can cause it to lock up or crash. Proceed at your own risk.

To optimize the EIDE drives:

• Click Proceed.
